Country Fried Steak and Gravy

Servings:

This is my family’s absolute favorite meal. A local restaurant, the Triple H, served this every Sunday for their buffet. I worked on this recipe for years until I felt it was a duplicate for the real deal. Hope you enjoy!

Directions

Using a frying pan, cast iron is best, place about an inch of your canola or vegetable oil in the pan. Heat on medium-high heat. While the oil is heating, salt and pepper both sides of the cube steak and then flour well, removing any excess flour. Oil is ready when you drop a little flour in the pan and it starts to fry. Fry until both sides are brown, don’t cook until done, this will be done in your crock pot. Fry all the steak in this manner. While the steak is cooking, in your crockpot you are going to add both cans of soup, two cans of water, 1 packet of brown gravy mix and 1 tbsp of Kitchen Bouquet. Mix well in the crockpot. Add the semi-fried steak to the crockpot and cook on low 6-8 hours until tender. Serve over rice or mashed potatoes.
